The drive down Fitzroy Street is now noticeably different for Rockhampton locals, with the iconic Daniels Surgical building having undergone a major makeover with their rebrand to Regional Health & Mobility.
The rebrand comes after the local independent living, rehab and mobility equipment store became a part of the AFS Health Services family. AFS are part of the fabric of the Rockhampton Region in providing affordable, quality health services in the CQ region for over 100 years. The new-look Regional Health & Mobility store will continue to supply the same range of products and services the community has come to know and love while focusing on improving the variety and quality of independent living services available in the region.
We know just how much of a difference the right independent living aids can have on the quality of life for someone living with a disability, recovering from surgery, or adjusting to a new illness or injury, however people living in regional areas are often bound by the limited product ranges available in local stores or have to buy online, explains AFS Health Services CEO, Mark Boyd.
Sadly, buying online doesn't give them any opportunity to trial a product to make sure it's the right fit for them or hire something just for the short time they may need it, leaving them at a disadvantage.
Mark says that Regional Health & Mobility are committed to seeing this change, aiming to give locals access to a range of products and services similar to those on offer in capital cities while still being able to receive local, community-focused service.
Not only will we be extending the range of products we stock, but we're also focusing on improving our connections with local stakeholders, community members and allied health professionals through different events to ultimately ensure we're offering the best support possible, he explains.
The Daniels name has been synonymous with the health industry in Rockhampton for the past 40+ years, and although the name is changing, we are committed to carrying on the Daniels legacy and all that Wayne and Jan have provided to the community.
